Lake Forest Schools have announced that students from Lake Forest High School involved in math, science, and business organizations and clubs are advancing to state-level competitions.
According to the announcement, students participating in the Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) were placed in categories such as economics, investments, and business concepts. Several of these students have qualified for national competitions. Science Olympiad team members achieved top-five rankings in areas including chemistry, anatomy, and ecology, securing individual spots at the state tournament. The math team attained second place overall in the North Suburban Math League, with students excelling across multiple events. One team member received the John Benson Award for outstanding achievement in mathematics. Coaches across all programs supported these student accomplishments.
FBLA is described as the largest business career and technical student organization globally, supporting over 230,000 members annually in preparing for business careers. Its mission is to inspire and prepare students to become community-focused business leaders through career preparation and leadership experiences. FBLA emphasizes ethical conduct, including inclusivity, respect, and accountability.
Lake Forest High School was established in 1935 as a public secondary school serving grades 9–12 in Lake Forest, Illinois. Approximately 95% of its students pursue higher education with support from personalized instruction and a collaborative school environment. It serves the communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood under the motto "Pursuits become habits."
Lake Forest Community High School District 115 serves about 1,500 students from Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood. The district offers a range of academic programs including advanced placement courses and specialized electives along with extracurricular activities such as athletics and performing arts.
