District 103 is preparing for the start of the new school year, with students set to return on Wednesday, August 20. The district has spent the summer welcoming new teachers and staff, updating its curriculum, and ensuring buildings are ready for students.

Families are asked to complete several tasks before classes begin. Required health forms and any necessary medications or allergy documentation should be submitted to the child’s school office prior to the first day. Optional student insurance plans are available on the Health and Wellness page under Forms on the district website.

Parents are also encouraged to review the Life-Threatening Allergies policy and snack guidelines in order to help maintain an allergen-free environment for all students. Teacher assignments will be posted after noon on Monday, August 11 in the PowerSchool Parent Portal, while bus route information will be available in PowerSchool on Friday evening, August 15.

The district recommends families read their principal’s back-to-school letter for important dates and updates. Parents can subscribe to individual school calendars so events automatically appear on their personal devices. Communication resources such as social media pages and news outlets are also suggested for staying informed.

Additional reminders include turning in required health forms, completing transportation forms if needed (such as joint custody or daycare requests), finishing summer reading books for grades six through eight, and shopping for school supplies. Supplies purchased through PTO’s 1st Day School Supplies program will be delivered directly to homes except for kindergarten; supply lists can also be found online.
