United Township High School District 30 released a series of announcements on September 9, 2025, regarding upcoming student activities, volunteer opportunities, and guidance resources for students.

The daily lunch menu includes walking tacos, bean and cheese burritos, taco fiesta beans, baby whole carrots, mixed green salad, applesauce, and fruit sorbet.

Homecoming permission slips for outside guests are now available in the general office or student services. These forms must be submitted with the guest's ID by Wednesday, September 24. Students planning to attend the dance are reminded to keep track of their discipline visits to student services.

Seniors interested in being on the Homecoming Royalty Ballot will receive a Google Form on Monday, September 8. The form must be submitted by Friday, September 12 at 3 pm. To be eligible: "Students may only sign up themselves and must meet the eligibility criteria of passing 5 classes, have 5 referrals or less this semester, and have 5 days or less of unexcused/excused absences this semester."

Class shirts for the homecoming assembly are available until Wednesday, September 10.

The East Moline Public Library is offering limited edition UT library cards throughout Library Card Sign Up Month. Only East Moline Library cardholders are eligible.

For summer 2026, UTHS students can join an educational trip to Germany, Czech Republic, Poland, and Hungary. An informational meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, September 10 at 6 pm in the UTHS library. For more details contact Mrs. Monson.

Guidance updates include a visit from ISAC representative Ms. Eden DeTombe on September 10 from 9 to 11:30 am for FAFSA assistance; students should sign up in the Guidance Office if interested. Black Hawk College’s planned visit was canceled due to illness but will be rescheduled.

Volunteer opportunities are available with Quad Cities Rowing Club for its 'Sprint the Miss Regatta' event on September 19-20 and with RICCA (Rock Island County Council of Addictions) during the QC Community Suicide Prevention Walk on Sunday, September 21 at Wharton Field House. Alternatives social services organization is also seeking volunteers interested in working with senior citizens.

Seniors wanting to retake the ACT can do so at UTHS on October 17; sign-ups end September 26 through Mrs. Whitcher in counseling.

Students can volunteer at the Silvis Hispanic Heritage Festival on Saturday, September 13 from noon to eight p.m., earning community service hours through Mr. Davis in college advising.

The district announced its fifth year of after-school programs supported by a Nita M. Lowey grant: "We are proud to announce the beginning of our fifth year of unique after-school activities." Clubs include E-Sports Club, Peer Mentoring Club, STEM Club, UTime Club, Gearheads Club (which meets Tuesdays and Thursdays), Multicultural Club, Health Occupations Preparation for Excellence (HOPE), Zero Hour Tutoring/Credit Recovery and Black Hawk Adult Education Courses.

AP testing sign-up has begun; students enrolled in AP courses should register through their teachers while others may register via Mrs. Whitcher in counseling.

Sports updates include an open softball workout on Wednesday afternoon at the varsity field; questions can go to Coach Alonzo or Coach Tapia. There will also be a brief meeting for girls interested in joining next season’s bowling team after school Wednesday inside the library seminar room; questions may be sent to Coach Krack via email.

Student council meets Friday morning at seven-thirty a.m., where voting on homecoming decorations will take place.

United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties and represents United Township High School within its jurisdiction (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). The district comprises approximately equal numbers of male and female teachers—48.3 percent women and 51.7 percent men—with no teacher exceeding ten absences annually according to recent state data (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
