Lake Forest Community High School District 115 has announced the appointment of Nick Maher as a new part-time Latin instructor at Lake Forest High School. Maher, who recently relocated to the Chicago area to join his fiancée, was drawn to the school due to its academic reputation, school spirit, and supportive community. He expressed enthusiasm about engaging with students and contributing to the school's educational mission. Outside of his teaching responsibilities, Maher enjoys practicing basic origami and is studying Sanskrit.

"I recently moved to the Chicago area to be with my fiancée after teaching in Wilmington, Delaware, and applied to Lake Forest in May after being referred by another school," said Maher. "I was very impressed by the incredible academics and strong sense of school spirit and community, and am excited to be here working with an amazing faculty and helping to contribute to this mission."

Lake Forest High School, established in 1935, is a public secondary institution located in Lake Forest, Illinois. It serves students from grades 9 through 12. According to Lake Forest Schools, approximately 95% of its students pursue higher education, benefiting from personalized instruction within a collaborative environment that emphasizes mutual respect, high expectations, and a sense of belonging. The school serves the communities of Lake Forest, Lake Bluff, and Knollwood under the motto "Pursuits become habits."

Lake Forest Community High School District 115 caters to around 1,500 students from these communities in grades 9 through 12. The district offers a variety of academic programs including advanced placement courses and specialized electives alongside extracurricular activities such as athletics and performing arts. Feeder schools include Deer Path Middle School and Lake Bluff Middle School among others.
