United Township High School District 30 released several announcements for students and staff on September 11, 2025. The district, which serves Rock Island and Henry counties, includes United Township High School as part of its system (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

Homecoming permission slips for outside guests are now available in the general office or student services. Students must submit the forms with the guest's ID by Wednesday, September 24. Those planning to attend the dance are reminded to monitor their discipline visits to student services.

Seniors interested in being on the Homecoming Royalty Ballot will receive a Google Form on Monday, September 8. The form must be submitted by Friday, September 12 at 3 pm. Eligibility requires passing five classes, having no more than five referrals this semester, and no more than five days of excused or unexcused absences.

Students can access the internet at home using two options provided by UTHS. The first is LinQ community-wide WiFi, covering much of East Moline, Silvis, Carbon Cliff, Colona, and nearby areas; UTHS Chromebooks connect automatically to LinQ_Edu. For those outside coverage areas, a limited number of wireless hotspots are available for checkout from the Student Store after discussing with a counselor.

The Europe Trip 2026 still has eight spots open. Interested students should visit Mrs. Monson’s classroom (room 223E) for an informational flier and sign-up details. Registration is open until September 19 with a $200 discount on the trip cost for early sign-ups.

Bradley University representatives will visit UT during Period 8 today to meet with interested students who have signed up at the Guidance Office.

The Army National Guard will also be present in the Commons area during lunch breaks for students seeking information about joining.

RICCA is looking for volunteers for the QC Community Suicide Prevention Walk on Sunday, September 21 at Wharton Field House. Interested students should contact Mr. Davis, College & Career Advisor.

Seniors wishing to retake the ACT can do so at UTHS on October 17 by signing up at the counseling office before September 26.

The school announced its fifth year of after-school activities supported by the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. Clubs beginning September 8 include E-Sports Club, Peer Mentoring Club, STEM Club, UTime Club, Gearheads Club, Multicultural Club, Health Occupations Preparation for Excellence, Zero Hour Tutoring/Credit Recovery, and Black Hawk Adult Education Courses.

Information about each club is available in the counseling office or via email; registration is required through that office.

AP testing sign-up is underway: "If you are in an AP class, you will sign up for the test with your teacher. For all other AP testing, please come to the counseling office and ask for the signup sheet. See Mrs. Whitcher if you have any questions."

Girls interested in bowling who missed Wednesday’s meeting should email Coach Krack for more information.

Student Council meets Friday at 7:30 am in room 109S to vote on Homecoming decorations.

Gearheads Club meets Tuesdays and Thursdays at 3:15 PM in Auto Mechanics; sign-up sheets are available from Mr Ron or Mr Thirtyacre or in counseling.

The LGBT+ club meets Tuesday next week in Miss Williams’ room (125E) to prepare for Ally Day; snacks will be provided.

Tri-M Music Honor Society will meet this afternoon at three-thirty pm following a Fine Arts Fundraiser meeting in the Choir Room to discuss new calendar items and committees for Bingo Night.

A new Mariachi Band invites guitarists and bassists—especially those who played with Mariachi at Glenview—to join a kick-off meeting and jam session Monday after school from 3:15-4:15pm in Room 100S; instruments may be stored safely before school in the Music Office.
