Students across Collinsville Community Unit School District #10 took part in activities to honor the September 11 Day of Remembrance. The events included creating artwork, listening to stories, observing moments of silence, and placing flags for those who died in New York, Washington, D.C., and Shanksville, Pennsylvania.
At Collinsville High School, social studies classes placed flags on the school’s front lawn throughout the day. By the end of the event, a total of 2,997 flags had been set out—one for each life lost during the attacks on September 11, 2001.
