The City of Lake Forest has announced that the intersection at Deerpath and Oakwood Avenue will be closed to all vehicle traffic from Monday, September 15 through Sunday, September 28. This closure is part of the ongoing Deerpath Streetscape Project.

Crews are scheduled to upgrade the intersection with enhanced crosswalks designed to improve pedestrian safety. These upgrades are similar to those recently completed at the intersection of Deerpath and Western Avenue in August. The new crosswalks will use decorative brick and are intended both as a safety measure for pedestrians and as a way to calm traffic by slowing vehicles passing through the area.

According to city officials, "Thank you for your continued patience as work progresses on the Deerpath Streetscape Project and Bank Lane Enhancements. Both projects remain on schedule for completion by the end of October 2025."

For more information about the project, residents can visit the City of Lake Forest’s website.
