United Township High School District 30 released several announcements for students and parents on September 16, 2025. The daily lunch menu includes baked Italian rotini with whole grain garlic bread, spicy chicken strips, mixed green salad, broccoli, strawberries, and craisins.
Students who take the bus are advised of changes in the dismissal process. Bus 27 will operate three runs: first run for Bus 27 first run students, second run for Bus 29 first run students, and third run for both Bus 27 and Bus 29 second run students. Additionally, Bus 30 will move to the front of the dismissal lineup.
The district announced that the 2025-26 yearbook is available for purchase until December 19, 2025. Preorders can be made in the General Office or online for $50 by cash, check, or credit card.
Homecoming permission slips for outside guests are now available in the general office or student services. Forms must be submitted with a guest’s ID by Wednesday, September 24th. Students are reminded to keep track of their discipline visits if they wish to attend the dance.
Disciplinary procedures were also outlined: "Attention students: Failure to appear for your restricted lunch discipline will result in an additional referral of all-day ISS discipline, which will be added to your total referrals."
Seniors and their families can purchase Yearbook Senior Baby Ads until November 7, 2025. Each ad section costs $30 with cash or check and $31.50 with a credit card.
The East Moline Public Library is offering limited edition UT library cards during Library Card Sign Up Month. These cards are only available this month to East Moline Library cardholders.
For internet access at home, UTHS provides two options: community-wide WiFi called LinQ—which covers large parts of East Moline, Silvis, Carbon Cliff, Colona and surrounding areas—and wireless hotspots that can be checked out from the Student Store by those outside LinQ coverage areas.
Students interested in traveling to Europe in summer 2026 can sign up until September 19; eight spots remain open and early sign-up offers a discount.
Several volunteer opportunities were announced: RICCA seeks volunteers for the QC Community Suicide Prevention Walk on September 21st at Wharton Field House; Quad Cities Rowing Club needs help on September 19-20th for its regatta event.
College representatives visiting soon include Ms. Eden DeTombe from ISAC (September 17), Mr. Shawn Johnson from Golden Apple Foundation (September 17), Luther College's Michael Elliott (today during third period), as well as representatives from the United States Air Force and Navy (during all three lunch periods).
Athletics updates include an open softball workout scheduled for Wednesday afternoon on the varsity field.
Various clubs are holding meetings this week: LGBT+ club meets today in room 125E; Unified sports gathers Wednesday morning; Gamer’s Club meets Friday after school; Fosters Voice convenes Friday morning; Student Council meets Friday morning; Hope Club meets Wednesday afternoon; Interact Club’s next meeting is September 24th with a guest speaker on Peer Justice Program; P7 club holds its first meeting Friday morning; Knights of Columbus Tootsie Roll Drive needs volunteers this weekend.
Powderpuff game sign-up forms are available in the general office with class shirts designated by color per grade level.
United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties (source). The district employs a total of ninety-six teachers earning an average salary of $65,666 before pension contributions; about half are women and half men (source). There have been no teachers with more than ten absences reported in a school year (source). The student population is approximately fifty-one percent White, sixteen percent Black, twenty-five percent Hispanic, and nearly three percent Asian (source).
