Students in Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 will have a half-day of attendance on Friday, September 19. The early dismissal is scheduled so teachers can participate in in-service professional development during the afternoon.

Also taking place this weekend is the annual Italian Fest in Uptown Collinsville on September 19 and 20. The event features fundraisers run by student groups, booster clubs, and community organizations. These activities provide funding for many Kahok clubs, teams, and charitable programs that benefit local schools.
The Italian Fest Parade will begin at 4:00 pm at Hesperia and Main Streets before turning onto Seminary and running along Clay Street back to Hesperia. The district's bands are scheduled to march in the parade.
This year's grand marshal is Theresa Billy, a former teacher and school board member with Collinsville Community Unit School District 10.
