The splash pad area at Lake Barrington Countryside Park District is now open to the public after the construction fence was removed. Visitors can enjoy a new drinking station that caters to both humans and dogs, along with extra seating and picnic tables.
"The outdoor restroom will be available through September 30th," said a representative, adding that "the Porta potty will remain year round."
The renovation of the splash pad encountered an unexpected challenge, causing a delay in its completion. Renovation work is set to continue during the off-season, with plans for reopening in 2026.
