United Township High School District 30 released several announcements for students and staff on September 22, 2025. The daily lunch menu includes all-beef hot dogs on whole-grain buns, spicy chicken breast sandwiches, oven-baked sweet potato fries, mixed green salad, and assorted fresh fruit.

For students taking the bus home, there are changes to the usual routes. Students who normally ride Bus 22 and Bus 31 will instead be transported by Bus 23 during both its first and second runs.

Homecoming permission slips for outside guests are now available in the general office or student services. These forms must be submitted with a guest's ID by Wednesday, September 24. Students were reminded to keep track of their discipline visits if they wish to attend the dance.

A European trip is planned for June 2027, with stops in Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia. An informational session about this tour will take place on Tuesday, September 6 at 6:00 pm in the Commons. Students can RSVP using a QR code found in emails or on posters around the school. Attendees may qualify for a $200 discount and enter a raffle for a $500 scholarship.

Guidance updates include Black Hawk College’s Transfer Exploration Night scheduled for Wednesday, September 24 from 6-8 p.m., aimed at high school students considering transferring from Black Hawk to an Illinois State System school. Seniors interested in retaking the ACT can sign up for testing at UTHS on October 17 by registering in the counseling office before September 26.

AP test sign-ups are underway; students enrolled in AP classes should register through their teachers while others can do so at the counseling office. Representatives from Black Hawk College and University of Illinois - Champaign/Urbana will visit UTHS this week along with representatives from the Illinois Student Assistance Commission and military branches.

The ASVAB test will be offered at UTHS on November 13. Practice materials are available through counselors or Mr. Davis.

In sports news, an open softball workout is scheduled for Wednesday from 3:30 to 5 pm on the varsity field.

Several club meetings are planned throughout the week:

- FCA meeting tomorrow morning at 7:30 am in the girls' gym.

- Interact Club meets Wednesday morning at 7:30 am in Room 119C with a guest speaker discussing Peer Justice Program.

- Powderpuff game sign-up forms are available; shirt colors vary by class year.

- Speech team informational meeting is Friday, September 26th after school in room 224E.

- Ally Day is Tuesday; students are encouraged to wear blue.

- Panther Players’ fall production of three one-act plays runs Friday through Sunday.

- Hope Club meets Wednesday afternoon as Homecoming preparations continue.

- Link Crew Leaders should check communications regarding an upcoming cookout.

- Student Council meets Friday morning ahead of Homecoming week.

- Latinos Unidos members meet after school Wednesday in room 256N.

Hispanic Heritage Month Spirit Week continues with themed dress days each day of the week including Ally Day (blue), Jersey Day (sports attire), Como la flor/Sombrero Day (flowers or hats), and Papel Picado Day (bright colors).

United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties and represents United Township High School within its jurisdiction according to information provided by the Illinois Report Card. The district employs a total of ninety-six teachers earning an average salary of $65,666; approximately half are women and half men. There have been no teachers reported with more than ten absences per year as noted by the Illinois State Board of Education.

Demographically, United Township High School District is composed of about fifty-one percent White students, sixteen percent Black students, twenty-five percent Hispanic students, and nearly three percent Asian students (source). In fiscal year 2020, spending per student was $19,622 totaling over thirty-three million dollars (source).
