United Township High School District 30 has announced several events and updates for students and families.

A European trip to Germany, Austria, Hungary, and Slovakia is planned for June 2027. The informational session will take place on Tuesday, September 6th at 6:00 pm in the Commons. Attendees can learn about the trip's benefits, safety measures, and costs. RSVP details are available via email or posters in the school building. Those who RSVP will be eligible for a $200 discount and a chance to win a $500 scholarship. Students are encouraged to direct questions to Mr. Greer.

The Choirs will present their Fall Choir Concert tonight at 7pm in the Auditorium. Admission is free and open to the public.

Guidance updates include a visit from the University of Illinois Champaign/Urbana during Period 3, with an extended meeting into Period 4 for those with schedule conflicts. Mr. Davis will provide passes as needed.

Seniors wishing to retake the ACT can do so on October 17th at UTHS; sign-ups are due by September 26th in the counseling office. AP testing sign-up is underway through AP teachers or directly with Mrs. Whitcher for non-class tests.

The Hope Club will host an educational table on suicide prevention during all lunch periods on Thursday, September 25th in recognition of Suicide Prevention Month.

Students interested in participating in Powderpuff can find sign-up forms in the general office, with shirt colors assigned by class year.

An informational meeting for those interested in joining the speech team will be held Friday, September 26th at 3:15 pm in room 224E.

The Panther Players' fall production features three one-act plays running from Friday, September 26th through Sunday, September 28th in the auditorium; student tickets cost $7.

Link Crew Leaders are reminded to respond regarding an upcoming cookout event.

Student Council meets this Friday at 7:30 am for homecoming preparations.

Hispanic Heritage Month Spirit Week continues with Papel Picado Day on Friday, encouraging students to wear bright colors and participate in group activities after school.

According to data from the Illinois State Board of Education (ISBE), there are currently 96 teachers employed by United Township High School District 30 earning an average salary of $65,666 before pension contributions; just over half of these teachers are men (51.7 percent) while women make up 48.3 percent of staff (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). The district’s demographic breakdown includes approximately 51 percent White students, nearly a quarter Hispanic students (25.5 percent), about sixteen percent Black students (16 percent), and just under three percent Asian students (2.9 percent) according to ISBE statistics (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

In terms of financials, United Township High School District 30 spent $19,622 per student in fiscal year 2020, totaling more than $33 million that year (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
