United Township High School District 30 has released its announcements for October 15, 2025, providing updates and reminders for students and staff.
The cafeteria menu for the day includes Mandarin orange chicken, fried rice, vegetable egg rolls, Mike’s cheese bites, mixed green salad, broccoli, baby whole carrots, and assorted fresh fruit.
Students are reminded to bring their physical school ID or a photo of it to the upcoming game on Friday. According to a message from the deans and front gate personnel: "You will not be able to gain access to the game unless you have your ID in hand or a picture of the ID on your phone. Skyward app WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!" Students needing an ID can visit the student store.
Friday, October 17th is designated as Pre-ACT practice day. All freshmen through juniors will participate in testing. Buses will run on their regular morning schedule with dismissal at 11:15 a.m. Students are instructed to bring fully charged Chromebooks, calculators, and pencils. Seniors do not attend school that day. The administration emphasized punctuality by stating that late arrivals will not be admitted so as not to disrupt testing.
Seniors are reminded of a required cap and gown meeting on Thursday, October 16th during second period in the auditorium.
Recognition was given to student musicians selected for ILMEA All-District Festivals. Twenty-seven United Township High School (UTHS) students were named from band, orchestra, choir, and jazz choir groups. Their names will be posted outside the auditorium later today.
In guidance news, representatives from the University of Missouri—known for its journalism and medical programs including Missouri’s only veterinary school—will visit UTHS on Thursday, October 16th. Interested students should sign up in the Guidance Office.
UTHS is hosting its first college fair on October 23rd in Gym B from 10:45 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., open to all seniors and juniors as well as sophomores enrolled in college prep or accelerated classes. Students interested in attending should contact their teacher, counselor or Mr. Davis, College & Career Advisor.
Clubs have several activities planned this week. The HOPE club invites students interested in HOSA to meet today after school in room 189V from 3:15-5:00 p.m. East Moline seeks volunteers for its downtown Halloween festival this Friday; those interested can contact Mrs. Drish.
The Honey Bee annual fall retreat is scheduled for October 25th from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m.; RSVPs are due by Friday, October 17th via Google Classroom or lunchroom screens. New members can self-nominate this year using forms available in the commons area; questions can be directed to Ms. Clearman or Ms. Jackson.
The Panther Players will hold an informational meeting about their winter play "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" tomorrow at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium covering cast and crew opportunities along with audition information; those unable to attend may email Mr. Greer for details.
There is no student council meeting on Friday; members are advised to check Google Classroom for updates regarding volunteer events over the weekend.
