Students at United Township High School received several announcements for the week of October 16, 2025, including details on school meals, upcoming events, and club activities.

The cafeteria menu includes cheese garlic French pizza, spicy chicken on a whole grain bun, oven-baked French fries, baby carrots with dip, green beans, sorbet, and applesauce.

Students were reminded to bring their physical school ID or a photo of it to the Friday game. The message from the deans and front gate personnel stated: "You will not be able to gain access to the game unless you have your ID in hand or a picture of the ID on your phone. Skyward app WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED!" Students can visit the student store to obtain a school ID.

Friday, October 17th is Pre-ACT practice day for 9th through 11th graders. Normal bus runs are scheduled in the morning and dismissal is at 11:15 a.m. Students are required to bring a fully charged Chromebook, a calculator, and a pencil. Seniors will not attend school that day. The announcement noted the importance of arriving on time and stated that students who are excessively late will not be admitted to avoid disruptions during testing.

The guidance office announced that representatives from the University of Missouri would visit United Township High School to discuss its journalism and medical programs. Students interested in meeting with the representative were encouraged to sign up in the Guidance Office.

Students interested in joining Scholastic Bowl were informed that the first practice is scheduled for Monday after school in Mr. Carlson's room. For those interested in boys' tennis in the spring, an informational meeting will be held after school on Monday, October 20th in Mr. Cahalan’s room to discuss off-season workouts.

The Interact Club announced its next meeting for Wednesday, October 22nd at 7:30 a.m. in Room 119C and invited all students to attend. HOSA and HOPE club members were encouraged to join today’s session from 3:15 to 5:00 p.m.

East Moline is seeking student volunteers for their downtown Halloween festival this Friday from 5-7 p.m., with make-up and costumes provided.

The annual Honey Bee fall retreat is set for October 25th from 8:30 a.m.-3:00 p.m., with RSVP forms available via Google Classroom or during lunch periods. This year students can also nominate themselves to become Honey Bees.

The Panther Players scheduled an informational meeting about their winter play production of "The Wonderful Wizard of Oz" today at 3:30 p.m. in the auditorium. The message said: "We will go over all of the available cast and crew positions as well as audition and sign-up information... Can't make the meeting? Reach out to Mr. Greer by email, and he will share all of the information."

There will be no student council meeting on Friday due to Pre-ACT testing; updates are available via Google Classroom regarding volunteer opportunities.

P7 club activities are canceled this Friday because of testing but will resume next week.
