Coal City Community Unit School District 1 has announced an early dismissal for students on Thursday, October 23. Dismissal times vary by school: Early Childhood Center at 11:30 a.m., Elementary and Intermediate Schools at 11:45 a.m., Middle School at noon, and High School at 11:55 a.m. There will be no classes for students on Friday, October 24.
Parent-teacher conferences are scheduled for all grade levels on Thursday from 4 to 8 p.m. and Friday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., with the first hour on Friday available by appointment only.
Superintendent Chris Spencer said, “I encourage all parents/guardians to participate in the conferences as they provide a better understanding of a student’s academic progress, strengths and weaknesses and ways to collaborate with teachers to ensure academic success.”
