Students at United Township High School received several announcements for the week of November 3, 2025, including information on cafeteria offerings, upcoming club meetings, sports events, and important deadlines.

The school cafeteria menu features cheese garlic French pizza, spicy chicken tenders with a garlic bread stick, mixed green salad, baby carrots with dip, peas, and assorted fresh fruit. Students were reminded to keep the microwave clean by covering their food when using it. The administration stated that if cleanliness is not maintained, the microwave will be removed until January 2026.

Students who participated in trick-or-treating for cans during Halloween as part of the Student Hunger Drive are asked to drop off their collected items in Ms. Colgan's room next to the wrestling room.

Yearbook Senior Baby Ads are available for purchase until November 7. Each ad costs $30 and includes space for a photo and a message. Order forms can be found in the General Office and Mrs. Green's room (126E). The deadline to preorder a yearbook is December 19; after this date, yearbooks will cost $60 instead of $50 and only a limited number will be available in May.

The ESL department and Multicultural Club are co-sponsoring a Day of the Dead altar in the Center hallway through November 4. Students can contribute photos or trinkets to remember loved ones by giving them to Ms. Enburg in 261W or emailing images for printing. All contributions must be appropriate and approved.

ALTERNATIVES, a social services organization based in Moline, Illinois, is seeking student volunteers interested in supporting senior citizens. Interested students should contact Mr. Davis, College & Career Advisor.

Guidance announcements include information about the ASVAB test offered at UTHS on November 13. Practice questions are available from counselors or Mr. Davis.

Sports updates note that all wrestlers must attend a mandatory meeting on Tuesday, November 4 after school in the Commons. Boys interested in basketball should also attend an important meeting that day after school in the Commons; questions can be directed to Coach Saey or Coach Whiteman. Girls’ basketball tryouts begin today after school in Gym B for all levels and continue tomorrow with varsity tryouts at 6:00 am and Fresh/Soph tryouts after school; further details are available on Google Classroom or from Coach Pavelonis.

Club activities include Gamers Club meeting Friday from 3-5 pm in room 149N; FCA meeting tomorrow at 7:20 am in the Commons; Tri-M Music Honor Society hosting its annual Music Bingo Night this Friday with games and raffles starting at 6:00 pm ($10 admission); no Mariachi band rehearsal today; Student Council meeting Friday morning at 7:30 am in room 109S; Hope club meeting Wednesday afternoon from 3:15-5:00 pm in room 189V.

United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties (source).
