  • Highland Park Natural Resources Commission holds meeting

    The City of Highland Park Natural Resources Commission held its regular meeting on Tuesday, during which the commission was expected to focus on considering amendments to the city's Ethics Guidelines, as well as discuss the impact of coal tar and other sealants polluting local stormwater.

  • Highland Park Fire Department to host blood drive

    Highland Park will hold a blood drive from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 14, at the Highland Park Fire Department, 1130 Central Avenue, Station No. 33.The drive will be managed by the blood-collection company LifeSource. To donate blood, participants must show proof of identification, be at least 17 years old (16-year-olds may donate with parental consent) and weigh at least 110 lbs.

  • Lakeshore Recycling to take over waste collection in Highland Park

    Beginning Jan. 1, Lakeshore Recycling Systems (LRS) will be responsible for residential and commercial waste collection in Highland Park. Residents and commercial properties will be able to maintain their current service plans and also choose from several new waste-disposal options for organic waste, electronic waste or bulk items.
