Jalen Brunson, who graduated from Stevenson High School in Lincolnshire, was among four Villanova University basketball players named to Big East All-Conference teams, the website VUHoops.com reported recently.

Brunson, a 6-foot-2-inch sophomore, joined teammate Josh Hart on the all-conference first team. Kris Jenkins was an honorable mention, and Donte DiVincenzo was named to the all-freshman team. The four Wildcats represented the largest number of players selected from a single team in the conference.

Brunson and Hart were unanimous selections. All-conference teams are selected by head coaches, who are barred from voting for their own team.

Brunson led the league in shooting percentage among guards at 53.6 percent and had the second-most assists of any player, with 4.3 per game. He also averaged 14.8 points per game and was fourth in the league with a 2.0 assist-turnover ratio.

Brunson was unanimously named to the Big East’s all-freshman team in 2016.
