The calls in Wauconda included 111 fires - 56 structure fires, 13 vehicle fires and 37 other fires. The fire department also responded to five calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.
In all, the department saw $1,264,260 in fire loss - or about $11,390 per fire.
The department also received 467 false calls, including three malicious calls and 464 other false calls.
The calls resulted in one civilian fire-related injury and one civilian fire-related death. Additionally, three fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents.
The Wauconda FPD Firefighter's Pension Fund, which has 39 active employees and seven retired or inactive employees, was $500,592 in debt as of April 2016, according to the fund's mandated filings with the Illinois Department of Insurance. That amounts to $4,510 for every fire in 2016.
