Report: Lake Forest spent $18,267 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Lake Forest School District 67 is up 26 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $14,516 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $18,267 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 1945 to 1755.

Lake Forest's spending in 2016-17 was 41 percent higher than the state average of $12,973.
