Opn

Village of Mundelein issued the following announcement on July 20.

The Illinois Tollway cordially invites residents to attend a Public Open House meeting regarding the Route 53 Extension Project—now referred to as the “Tri-County Access Project.” The Tri-County Access Project seeks to address transportation challenges in northern Cook, Lake and eastern McHenry Counties.

The Public Open House will be held on Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at Countryside Banquets-28874 Route 120 in Lakemoor, IL. Interested parties can stop by anytime between 4 p.m. to 7 p.m.

The purpose of the Public Open House is to provide residents and interested parties the opportunity to discuss their issues with navigating travel in the region and to share their ideas on how travel could be improved. There will be no formal presentation but a short video presentation will run continuously.

The Tri-County Access Project’s mission is to take a comprehensive look at potential solutions to relieve congestion, promote economic vitality, respect the environment, and remain fiscally responsible. Some of the project goals include: to determine if any action is needed and if so how changes might be implemented. The Tri-County Access Project will utilize prior studies and leverage new and emerging technology to meet the ongoing transportation issues in the three county area.
