Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 students suspended 94 times in a single school year

Mundelein Consolidated High School District 120 reported 94 suspensions for 2016-17, according to the latest student discipline report by the Illinois State Board of Education.

According to the report, the district expelled or suspended 94 students during the year. That equates to 4.6 percent of the 2,034 students enrolled.

Of the 14 in-school suspensions, all were given to boys, all of whom were high schoolers.

The district reported that most in-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 13 incidents. There were one incidents of tobacco. For 14 incidents, students were suspended for a day or less.

Of the 80 out-of-school suspensions, 66 were given to boys and 14 were given to girls, all of whom were high schoolers.

The district reported that most out-of-school suspensions were given for unspecified reasons. The category includes 45 incidents. There were 11 incidents of violence without physical injury. For 27 incidents, students were suspended for 1-3 days.
