GRANT COMMUNITY HIGH SCHOOL DISTRICT 124: April Student of the Month ~ Frances Williams

Honorroll

Grant Community High School District 124 recently issued the following announcement.

The Grant Community High School April Student of the Month is senior Frances Williams, daughter of Roger and Julianne Williams of Ingleside.

Frances's academic achievements include induction into the National Honor Society during her sophomore year, she has consistently earned her place on Scholars’ List and Honor Roll, she has taken 9 AP courses, scored 1350 on her SAT, and she holds a remarkable 5.07 GPA.

Her extracurricular activities include four years of Softball where she earned Most Valuable Player as a freshman and as a sophomore and plays on a travel softball league outside of Grant, four years of Tennis playing varsity for three years, Math Team, and Computer Science Club.

Frances volunteers at Big Hollow, participating in Reading Night and Book Fair, she helped out at the Fox Lake Triathlon, St. Bede’s St. Vincent De Paul dinner, Feed My Starving Children, and the service opportunities with NHS that included 8th Grade Enrollment Night and Graduation. She enjoys assisting her peers as a Math Lab Tutor and Big Dawg Mentor.

In addition to all of her activities, Frances works as a receptionist at Wauconda Care, a skilled care facility and during the summer she also works at Dairy Queen in Fox Lake. She is a passionate reader, loves outdoor activities such as kayaking, swimming, and hiking during summer months and in winter, snowboarding.

Her plans for the future include attending Colorado School of Mines in Golden, Colorado to major in Geological Engineering.
