Village of Lake Zurich issued the following announcement on Aug. 1
The Village of Lake Zurich wants to know what residents think about the quality of life in the community, satisfaction with municipal services, where public resources should be directed, and where they think the Village is headed overall.
Lake Zurich's 4th National Community Survey is out now and postcards from the National Research Center at Polco of Boulder, Colorado should be hitting Lake Zurich mailboxes over the next few weeks with an invitation to participate.
Participation in this survey is important as this is Lake Zurich’s only statistically valid opportunity to get resident opinions on quality of life.
This year’s survey uses a random sampling of 3,000 Lake Zurich households to provide the most accurate picture of the community as a whole at a 95% confidence level analyzed by experts at the National Research Center.
Resident have until September 28, 2021 to take the survey and the final report should be available around Halloween.
Households who are not selected in the statistically-valid sample size will also be able to participate in the same survey in mid-September via a non-statistically valid survey.
If you have questions regarding the National Community Survey, please reach out to Lake Zurich Village Hall at 847-540-1684 or info@lakezurich.org.

Lake County to Begin Traffic Study Along Old McHenry and Quentin Roads
The Lake County Division of Transportation (LCDOT) has begun an engineering study for the area surrounding Old McHenry Road and the Canadian National (CN) rail crossing and along Quentin Road.
The project will evaluate the feasibility of constructing a new grade separation at the CN railroad tracks, meaning motorists will not have to sit and wait for the nearly 20 trains that pass through each day.
Previously planned in-person events will be conducted virtually.
Two ways to get involved:
1) Visit the project website: Here you can learn more about the project, including maps of the study area, timeline and FAQs. As the project progresses, documents will be posted to the website. Be sure to click on the “Comment Map” tool where you can add your inputs directly to the map. https://omxproject.com/
2) Save the date for the first Virtual Public Forum. September 23, 2021. More details to come.
Your inputs are important to us and we welcome your participation!

Join the Ancient Oaks Foundation on Saturday, August 21 at 10:00 am as they celebrate the opening of the new nature playscape at the Village of Lake Zurich's Kuechmann Arboretum, 626 North Old Rand Road
The new Kuechmann Kove nature playscape is a community funded project that local volunteers and the Village of Lake Zurich have been working on since 2019.
Playscapes are designed to bring children back to nature, providing children with opportunities for unstructured play.
Studies show that children who play on these natural playscapes or playgrounds tend to play longer and stay more focused.
