The Mayor has issued Executive Order 2021-01, finding and directing that all meetings should be held virtually and that it is impractical and imprudent to hold in-person meeting due to the effects of COVID-19 Public Health Emergency on the North Chicago Community.
Notice is hereby given that the City of North Chicago will hold a virtual Public Information Meeting concerning the proposed study of Illinois Route 137 (Sheridan Road) from 10th Street to 15th Street.
The virtual Public Information Meeting will be held on February 1, 2022 beginning at 5:00 p.m. and broadcast via this Zoom Link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/8475968682 [us02web.zoom.us] , Meeting ID: 847 596 8682.
Meeting attendees will have the opportunity to view a formal presentation (beginning at 5:00 p.m.) presented by the City's engineering consultant and participate in a live question and answer session with the project team. Interested citizens may ask questions and leave comments live during the meeting after the formal presentation. Comments can also be e-mailed to loric@northchicago.org or mailed to the City of North Chicago for a period of 14 days after the meeting until February 15, 2021.
The project proposes modifying the existing cross section of Illinois Route 137 (Sheridan Road) from 10th Street to 15th Street. The roadway is proposed to be converted from four-lane to three-lanes with shoulders. The proposed improvements are scheduled to be implemented in conjunction with the planned IDOT resurfacing project in 2022. A Phase I Categorical Exclusion Project Development Report will be completed as part of this study. A recording of the Virtual Public Information Meeting and all pertinent project information and meeting materials will be made available at www.northchicago.org/transparency after the meeting.
