Village of Beach Park Village Board met Sept. 26

Here are the minutes provided by the board:

The Beach Park Village Board held a Regular Board Meeting on September 26, 2024 at the Beach Park Village Hall at 7:00 P.M.

PRESENT: Mayor John Hucker, Clerk Mary Jo McDonald, Attorney Carlos Arevelo. Trustees: Richard Gust, Don Jensen, Regina Miller and Linda Sittig . ABSENT: Trustee Larry Wells.

Public Comment On Agenda Items

None

Consent Agenda

Tr. Gust made a motion to approve the Consent Agenda which includes the following items:

a. Approval of Village Board Regular Meeting Minutes – September 12, 2024.

b. Bills presented for payment in the amount of $144,309.31.

c. August Monthly Finance Report

d. July Community Development Report

Tr. Miller seconded the motion. Roll Call.

Mayor’s Report

Mayor Hucker introduced the Beach Park Queens.

REPORTS FROM TRUSTEES:

Finance Committee

Tr. Jensen reported the next Finance Committee meeting will be held on Tuesday, October 15th 2024 at 6:00PM.

Parks and Recreation Committee

Tr. Gust had no report.

Trick or Treat Hours

Tr. Gust made a motion to establish Trick or Treat Hours in the Village of Beach Park from 2:00PM to 5:00PM on Sunday, October 27, 2024. Tr. Sittig seconded the motion. Roll Call.

Planning, Building and Zoning Committee

Tr. Wells was absent and there was no report on his behalf.

Ordinance 2024-O-15

Tr. Gust made a motion to PASS ORDINANCE 2024-O-15, AN ORDINANCE APPROVING THE PETITION OF ALEXANDER WYKOWSKI FOR A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT FOR SMALL ENGINE REPAIRS AS A MAJOR HOME OCCUPATION AT 38190 N NORTH AVENUE.

Tr. Sittig seconded the motion. Roll Call. Trs. Gust, Jensen, Sittig and Mayor Hucker voted “Aye.” Tr. Miller voted “Nay.”

Public Relations and Intergovernmental Committee

Tr. Miller had no report.

Public Safety Committee

Tr. Sittig reported that the next meeting of the Public Safety Committee will be held on Wednesday, October 2, 2024 at 1:00PM.

Public Works Committee

No Report

Ordinance 2024-O-16

Tr. Miller made a motion to PASS ORDINANCE 2024-O-16, AN ORDINANCE VACATING UNIMPROVED RIGHT-OFWAY OF BEACH PLACE AND ALLEY AT 38298 N. SHERIDAN RD AND 10036 W. BEACH PLACE. A PAYMENT OF $25,032.18 IS REQUIRED BY THE PETITIONER.
