Earlier this month, two Town Hall meetings were held to discuss the future of Coal City Intermediate School. Approximately 90 individuals attended the sessions aimed at providing community members with information about the school's current status and gathering public comments and questions regarding its future.
During the meetings, the Board of Education presented several concepts: repair, renovate, and rebuild. The information from these public sessions includes various proposed concepts, a timeline, questions raised by the public, photographs of the Intermediate School, and other relevant details.
The decision on how to proceed will be made by the Board of Education based on what is best for the School District—students, staff, and community stakeholders. Community input remains welcome.
District residents with questions or insights regarding the presented information are encouraged to email the school district ahead of its scheduled Feb. 5 meeting.
