Mr. John Wasik, a Lake County Board Member for District 6, has acknowledged Principal Laura Morgan of Meadowview School in a recent proclamation by the Lake County Forest Preserves Board. Mr. Wasik praised Mrs. Morgan's efforts in environmental education and her commitment to the Meadowview community.

"Congratulations to Laura Morgan, principal of Meadowview School, for her excellent work in bringing environmental education to her students," Mr. Wasik said. "She’s been a principal for 24 years in District 46 and is retiring. She was honored this morning in a special proclamation from the Lake County Forest Preserves Board."

Mrs. Morgan has collaborated with the Forest Preserves over the past nine years to provide environmental education to approximately 400 students annually. Her leadership earned her the "Green Ribbon Award" from the U.S. Department of Education in 2019.

Mr. Wasik also highlighted Community Consolidated School District 46's (CCSD 46) initiatives under Superintendent Lynn Glickman, emphasizing their role as leaders in clean energy and environmental awareness through solar arrays on district buildings.

"Thanks are also due to District 46 administration, board members, teachers, students and parents," Mr. Wasik added. "It takes more than a village to 'green' a community."

The recognition underscores Mrs. Morgan's contributions and CCSD 46's commitment to sustainability and education.
