The Coalers are headed to the IHSA Wrestling Dual Team State Finals for a third consecutive year. Coal City defeated Chicago King 80-0 at the Sectional on Tuesday night, advancing to the finals that commence on Friday, Feb. 28 at the Grossinger Motor Sports Arena in Bloomington.
The Coalers will face Stanford Olympia in the opening match at 5 p.m. A win would advance them to the semifinals on Saturday morning against the winner of the Murphysboro and Woodstock Marian match. The third-place and championship rounds are set for 6 p.m. Saturday.
Tickets are $10 per session, and for those unable to attend in Bloomington, the matches will be streamed on the NFHS Network.
