Community High School District #117 has released its February update, providing timely reminders, links for upcoming events, and news relevant to families, students, and staff.
The district invites parents, guardians, and caregivers to participate in the Annual Family Survey. The survey consists of 33 questions plus a few demographic queries at the end and takes approximately 11 minutes to complete. "Your participation is essential in helping us better understand and serve the needs of our District 117 community," said the district.
Upcoming booster events have been announced for both Antioch Community High School (ACHS) and Lakes Community High School (LCHS). The Lakes Eagles Booster Club (LEBC) will host its online auction from Friday, April 11 through Tuesday, April 15. Donations from local businesses are welcome. Sequoit Pride Booster Club's annual dinner and auction event, "The Main Event," is scheduled for Saturday, April 26.
A $5,000 Scholarship Raffle has been introduced as part of this year's "Driving for Education" program in collaboration with Raymond Chevrolet Kia. One cum laude graduate from each school will receive a $5,000 scholarship for postsecondary education. Eligibility criteria include earning a minimum of 26 academic credits, maintaining exemplary behavior with zero suspensions, contributing at least 40 hours of volunteer work, securing three capstone credits, maintaining a minimum of 95% attendance rate, and participating in at least four extracurricular activities. Students must submit all necessary paperwork by April 11 to confirm their eligibility.
The district recently completed middle school tour dates across five partner school districts: Antioch Upper Grade School, Emmons Middle School, Grass Lake Middle School, Millburn Middle School, and Palombi Middle School.
