Lake County announces details for April consolidated election

On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, Lake County will hold its next Consolidated Election. Residents can visit LakeVoterPower.info to access personalized voter information pages, check voter registration status, find voting sites, and preview ballots.

Online voter registration is available at ova.elections.il.gov until March 16, requiring a valid Illinois Driver’s License or State Identification Card. Registration will also be open at City Hall (1707 St. Johns Ave.) during regular business hours through Tuesday, March 4. Grace period registration is offered at any early voting site from March 17-3 and on Election Day; voters must register and vote simultaneously during this period. Residents can avoid lines by opting to vote by mail. There are four ways to request a mail ballot:

- Apply online at LakeVoterPower.info

- Download a paper application from LakeCountyClerk.info and mail it to the Lake County Clerk (18 N. County St., Rm. 101, Waukegan, IL, 60085)

- Call 847.377.2406 to request an application by mail

- Email votingbymail@lakecountyil.gov

All requests must be received by the Lake County Clerk no later than Thursday, March 27 at \5 PM.

Completed ballots should be returned via mail with a postmark no later than Election Day or delivered to either a drop box or the Lake County Clerk’s office by \7 PM on Election Day. For more information, call \847.377.VOTE.

Early voting begins at the Lake County Clerk’s Office (18 N.County St., Waukegan) from March \7-14 on weekdays from \9 AM – \5 PM.County-wide early voting sites will operate from March \17-31 with evening and weekend hours available; times vary by location.Visit LakeCountyClerk.info for details as the election approaches.

On Election Day,polls will be open from \6 AM to \7 PM.New this election cycle ,Lake County voters may cast their votes at any open voting site in Lake County.The new vote center model aims to increase accessibility ,convenience ,and efficiency for all voters .While voters will still have Preferred Election Day Voting Sites assigned ,they are no longer restricted to these locations .Learn more at LakeCountyClerk.info.
