On March 7, 2025, nine Highland Park businesses were targeted in a series of burglaries or attempted burglaries aimed at obtaining cash. Preliminary investigations suggest that a group of five individuals traveling in a single vehicle committed the crimes within approximately 30 minutes.

According to reports, the suspects forced entry through front doors or windows in each incident. These burglaries mirror patterns observed in other North Shore communities, where groups execute multiple commercial break-ins over short periods, spending just 30 seconds to a minute inside each establishment searching for cash.

The City of Highland Park Police Department has reached out to all affected businesses and is working collaboratively with regional law enforcement agencies on the investigation. The city will also issue follow-up communications to all Highland Park businesses.
