Wolves Baseball is Back
Mar 11, 2025
Under a new head coach and with Board of Education President Christine Martinez throwing out the first pitch, the Westminster Wolves baseball team opened their season with a dominating win over Aurora Hinkley. The game was called after three innings with the Wolves ahead 28 to 0.
To be fair, Hinkley hasn’t fielded a baseball team in many years and is just now rebuilding its program. Still, it’s a great start to the season under new coach Brenden Gentry.
“This team wants to end the losing seasons and has a good chance to be over .500 for the year,” said Gentry, who has served as assistant coach for several years. By his own description, Gentry lives and breathes baseball and tries to share that passion with his players. “I can appreciate the life lessons in this game and how humbling it can be to everyone. This is America's pastime and the hardest game to play. ”
If you are a Colorado Rockies Fan, the Westminster Public Schools Foundation is offering ticket packages to see games with the Cincinnati Reds and the New York Yankees in May.
