The Pete DiPaolo Chapter of the National Honor Society welcomed 27 new members at its 63rd Annual Induction of New Members on Tuesday, March 18.
Membership in the National Honor Society is open to students from their sophomore to senior years who maintain a cumulative grade point average of 3.75 or higher. Students selected for induction into the local chapter are those who exhibit traits of scholarship, leadership, service, and character.
Prior to reciting the National Honor Society pledge, the newly inducted members were introduced by a friend, faculty member, or community member of their choosing.
This year’s inductees include Landin Benson, August Burns, Kyle Cheever, Riley Clements, Cambree Davidson, Bridget Feeney, Hayden Francisco, Keirsten Gabehart, Aubrey Gunwald, Rebecca Hall, Calleigh Hamilton, Mason Hamilton, Kamryn Hansen, Austin Harding, Noah Houston, Lana Larsen\, Sydney Larson\, Mackenzie Lovell\, Julian Micetich\, Layla Miller\, Jordan Olson\, Cade Poyner\, Colin Schimandle\, Rhaina Vanek\, Alec Waliczek\, Olivia Weatherbee and Evelyn Wills.
The induction ceremony was led by National Honor Society president Anthony Aultz. He was assisted by vice president Will Johnke; secretary Lilly Feisley; treasurer Ava Meyer; and student council representative Dylan Young.
Also participating in the ceremony were Principal Art Stafford and Corey Mikula,\ assistant principal.
In addition to the officers,\ active members of the chapter include Corinna Barkley,\ Aylianna Castle,\ Korbyn Crist,\ Mackenzie Croxton,\ Alysin Fite,\ Peyton Gibson,\ Alyssa Hray,\ Melody Kinder,\ Kylee Kennell,\ Owen Kent,\ Deborah Lynch,\ Mackenzie Messina,Mason Natyshok,Hunter Nettles,Molly Ramsden,Alyssa Parks,Madi Peterson-Chloe Pluger-Katherine Promis-Calleigh VandeWerken.

The local chapter is named for the late Pete DiPaolo who served as superintendent of Coal City School District for 19 years. The first chapter advisor was Lucille DeGuile who attended the March 18 ceremony. Brad Schmitt is the current chapter advisor with faculty council members Jeremy Unger Amy Merill Tyler Castle Tara Welch and Sarah Cyrkiel.
