The Lake Bluff Police Department has been awarded Law Enforcement Accreditation for the ninth time, effective March 22, 2025, by the Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies (CALEA).
CALEA Accreditation is recognized as the International Gold Standard for Public Safety Agencies. The accreditation process involves a rigorous self- assessment, evaluation by independent assessors with significant public safety experience, structured interviews, and public feedback. The award remains valid for four years.
The mission of the Lake Bluff Police Department is to promote, preserve, and deliver a feeling of security, safety, and quality services to all members of the Lake Bluff community. This mission is accomplished through maintaining law and order in the Village and providing efficient means of reducing crime through education, patrol duties, investigation, apprehension of suspects, and recovery of evidence and property.
