Riverside Healthcare has donated over $12,500 to 18 high schools in Kankakee, Grundy, Will, and Iroquois counties to honor their athletic programs' achievements during the 2024 fall sports seasons. Among the beneficiaries, Coal City High School received $1,260 for its athletic programs.
The donation was gratefully accepted by football captain Landin Benson, football coach Francis Loughran, and Coal City High School athletic director Brad Boresi.
"Riverside is proud to recognize these remarkable student-athletes for their achievements," said Benjamin McLain, Riverside's vice president of operations. "As a community hospital, it is important to us to show our continued commitment to our schools and future community leaders. "
Coal City's contribution amounted to $25 for every home varsity football touchdown and $20 for each home varsity girls volleyball match won during the 2024 season.
