A peaceful protest is scheduled for June 14, 2025, in Highland Park. The City has announced that a large crowd is expected to gather from 11 AM to 1 PM at City Hall (1707 St. Johns Ave.). According to the City, there are no plans for a march.

The Highland Park Police will be present for public safety monitoring and to ensure residents' First Amendment right to peacefully assemble. The City is also coordinating with regional law enforcement agencies.

Temporary road closures will be implemented on Saturday, June 14, 2025, from approximately 10:00 AM until the crowd disperses:

- St. Johns Ave. will be closed from just south of the Laurel Ave. intersection

to just south of Hazel Ave.

- Hazel Ave. will be closed just east of the entrance to the Hazel Ave.

parking lot.

- The north entrance to the Metra lot is included in the road closure and will

not be accessible. To park in the Metra lot, please use the lot entrance

located south of Hazel Ave.

Some parking spaces along the east side of the Metra lot will also be blocked for staging purposes.

Pace Bus Route 472 will detour via First and Central during these temporary road closures.

The City has communicated with Downtown Highland Park business owners and organizers of the Arts on Sheridan event planned for Saturday and Sunday about increased crowds during this gathering.
