United Township High School announces events and new library card initiative

Students at United Township High School were informed of several announcements for the week of August 28, 2025. The cafeteria menu features jalapeno cheeseburgers and spicy chicken breast sandwiches, both served on whole grain buns, along with oven baked french fries, mixed green salad, applesauce, and strawberries.

Students interested in attending a musical event at the Adler Theatre in Davenport, Iowa on November 8 can obtain free tickets by contacting Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor. The event begins at 7:30 p.m.

Additionally, the East Moline Public Library will offer limited edition United Township library cards during September to celebrate Library Card Sign Up Month. These cards are available to East Moline Library cardholders who apply online or visit the library starting September 1. Questions can be directed to the library via email or phone at 309-755-9614.

United Township High School District 30 serves Rock Island and Henry counties and includes United Township High School as part of its district (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). According to recent data from the Illinois State Board of Education, District 30 employs 96 teachers with an average salary of $65,666 before pension contributions; about half are women and half are men. No teacher in the district has more than ten absences per school year (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).

The student population is composed of approximately 51 percent White students, 16 percent Black students, around a quarter Hispanic students, and nearly three percent Asian students (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/). In fiscal year 2020, District 30 spent $19,622 per student for a total expenditure of over $33 million (https://www.illinoisreportcard.com/).
