United Township High School District 30 released several announcements for students and staff on September 2, 2025. The school shared details about the lunch menu, which includes BBQ pork and cheeseburgers served on whole grain buns, mixed green salad, baked beans, oven-baked tater tots, mixed berry fruit cup, and applesauce.
Students were informed that the East Moline Public Library will offer limited edition UT library cards during September for Library Card Sign Up Month. These cards are available to East Moline Library cardholders who visit the library or apply online starting September 1. Questions can be directed to the library by email or phone at 309-755-9614.
ALTERNATIVES, a social services organization in Moline, Illinois, is seeking student volunteers interested in supporting senior citizens. Students can contact Mr. Davis, the College & Career Advisor, for more information.
The Quad Cities Rowing Club is looking for volunteers for its 'Sprint the Miss Regatta' event on September 19 and 20. Interested students should see Mr. Davis for volunteer duties.
An informational meeting about a Europe trip planned for summer 2026 will take place on Wednesday, September 10 at 6 p.m. in the UTHS library. The trip will include visits to Germany, Czech Republic, Poland (including Auschwitz), and Hungary with stops in Prague, Krakow, Budapest, and Berlin. Mrs. Monson is available to answer questions or provide informational flyers.
The guidance office announced that colleges and universities will be visiting United Township High School throughout the fall semester. Students interested in meeting with college representatives should sign up in the Guidance Office or speak with their counselor or Mr. Davis.
United Township High School is beginning its fifth year of after-school activities funded by the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Community Learning Center grant. Clubs starting on September 8 include E-Sports Club, Peer Mentoring Club, STEM Club, UTime Club, Gearheads Club, Multicultural Club, Health Occupations Preparation for Excellence, Zero Hour Tutoring/Credit Recovery, and Black Hawk Adult Education Courses. In sports news, an open softball workout will be held on Wednesday, September 3 from 3:30 to 5 p.m. on the varsity field; questions can be directed to Coach Alonzo or Coach Tapia.
