The Buffalo Grove Police Department is organizing a bowling fundraiser on Friday, September 19 at Bowlero, located at 350 McHenry Road in Buffalo Grove. The event aims to raise funds for Special Olympics Illinois athletes.

Registration costs $40 per person and covers lane and shoe rental, pizza, unlimited soft drinks, and entry into raffles and giveaways. Check-in for participants will start at 6:30 p.m.

This annual bowling night is part of the department’s involvement in the Law Enforcement Torch Run for Special Olympics, which is a statewide campaign to raise awareness and funds for Special Olympics Illinois. In 2024, the Buffalo Grove Police Department raised more than $25,000 to support local athletes through this initiative.

“The men and women of the Buffalo Grove Police Department are proud to be longtime supporters of our local Special Olympics athletes,” said Buffalo Grove Police Chief Brian Budds. “That support starts with our generous and caring community, and we want to thank all of our sponsors and supporters who make these events possible.”

Those interested in participating can register by contacting BGPD Administrative Assistant Melessa Horbus at mhorbus@vbg.org or by calling 847-459-2575.
