Lindenhurst ranked 618th in state in lottery ticket sales for April 2016

The Village of Lindenhurst had the 618th highest lottery ticket net sales statewide per capita for the month of April 2016 -- down 22 spots from its March ranking.

The per capita lottery ticket sales in Lindenhurst was $12.76 per person.

Based on monthly sales records obtained by the Lake County Gazette, Lindenhurst generated $183,780 in net sales from its seven lottery retailers in April 2016, compared to $178,772 in April 2015.

The Village of Lindenhurst is in Lake County, and has a population of 14,408, according to 2010 census data. Neighboring municipalities are Grayslake, Gurnee, Old Mill Creek, Third Lake, Lake Villa, Antioch, Grandwood Park and Venetian Village.

Average sales for municipalities in the region in April 2016 was $27,963.60.

Lindenhurst's top lottery retailer is Sams Mobil located at 2200 E Grand Ave, Lindenhurst, IL 60046.

Sams Mobil generated 36 percent of Lindenhurst's April 2016 lottery ticket sales and 1 percent of Lake County's sales that month, which was $10,234,678.50.

A close look at sales by city shows that the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita in Lake County in 2015 were Wadsworth, Hainesville, Lake Villa, Antioch and Fox Lake.

Statewide, the top five cities with the highest lottery revenue per capita were Forest View, Burnt Prairie, McCook, Mapleton and Merrionette Park.

The top five cities in the state generated $5,496,719 in net sales -- 1 percent of the state's 2015 net sales amounting to $2,793,271,709.50.
