Libertyville has approved a program that will reimburse residents for making flood-related improvements, according to a press release.
The flood-related improvement program (FRIP) is aimed at encouraging property owners to undertake beneficial overall sanitary sewer system work. The program provides up to 50 percent reimbursement, in an amount not to exceed $5,000 per household.
To be eligible, applicants must be property owners and willing to allow an inspection of the property prior to reimbursement to verify compliance with the program.
Among the documents required for submittal are a completed FRIP application and three contractor bids from licensed contractors for work being proposed.
Bids should include an itemization of and the total cost for all services. Reimbursements will be allocated on the lowest responsible bid received.
Applications are being accepted from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday until Oct. 30 at the Schertz Building at 200 East Cook Avenue.
Interested parties can contact Patrick Hastings with questions about the program or for assistance in completing the application at 847-918-2100 or by email at PHastings@Libertyville.com
