Report: Gurnee spent $12,821 per student in 2016-17

Spending per pupil at Gurnee School District 56 is down 1 percent from five years ago, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of district finances.

The Illinois State Board of Education 2016-17 report card shows the Lake County school district spent $12,959 per pupil in 2012-13. It spent $12,821 in 2016-17.

The district saw its enrollment fall over the same period, from 2210 to 2073.

Gurnee's spending in 2016-17 was 1 percent lower than the state average of $12,973.
