Village of Gurnee issued the following announcement on June 28.
As of 8:00 a.m. on June 28, 2018 the Des Plaines River has crested at a level of 9.6 feet according to reporting information provided by the National Weather Service (NWS).
The NWS forecast predicts a steady draw down of river heights, with an anticipation that it will be back within bank by Monday, July 2nd.
The precipitation forecast looks favorable for limited precipitation until Saturday evening.
Staff will be monitoring the forecast throughout this period.
