City of Highland Park recently issued the following announcement.
On Thursday, September 20, the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) will conduct a test of the nationwide Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alert (WEA) system. This is only a test. In addition to receiving an alert on compatible cell phones, this alert will also include radio, television, and cable stations. These tests will start around 1:18 PM CST.
The FEMA Emergency Alert System Test provides an opportunity to talk to your family about emergency planning and make your own family emergency communication plan. Visit www.ready.gov/make-a-plan to learn more about creating a plan.
