City of Highland Park issued the following announcement on May 1.
The Smart911 app is available to anyone with a phone – mobile, landline or VOIP. This free service allows individuals and families to sign up online to provide key information to first responders during an emergency.
Smart911 is being used nationwide to help save critical time during emergencies.
The additional information provided in a Smart911 Safety Profile enables first responders to know exactly where they are going and who they are looking for in a house fire or at the scene of a vehicle accident, which allows for additional efficiencies and speedier response times.
Smart911 allows citizens to create a safety profile online at smart911.com for their households that includes any information they chose to share.
