ILLINOIS STATE HOUSE DISTRICT 62: Yingling Encourages Job Seekers to Utilize “Get Hired Illinois” Resources

62

Illinois State House District 62 issued the following announcement on May 27

As part of his ongoing efforts to help connect jobseekers to employers, state Rep. Sam Yingling, D-Grayslake, is highlighting the new Get Hired Illinois program.

“One of the many consequences of the COVID-19 pandemic is the increase in unemployed individuals in Illinois,” Yingling said. “Now more than ever, we must make sure that jobseekers are provided with all the necessary resources to get connected with employers and find work. This new program is an excellent addition to the many resources that can assist jobseekers.”

Get Hired Illinois is a compilation of resources that provide information to both jobseekers and employers to help increase employment. Some of these resources include virtual job fairs, listing of current job openings, and links to various other resources. For more information, please visit the Get Hired Illinois website at https://www2.illinois.gov/GetHired/Pages/default.aspx.

During his time in the General Assembly, Yingling has worked to increase job development. Last fall, Yingling held a Job Fair that connected local employers with jobseekers. He has also worked to stimulate job growth by growing businesses through legislation that expand tax credits to medium and small businesses.

“During these uncertain times, it is important that we work to help bring stability back to those whose lives were negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic,” said Yingling. “I highly encourage those who are unemployed, or are looking to switch jobs, to take advantage of the Get Hired Illinois program.”
