Analysis: Wadsworth pays $4.01 for every $1 pensioners contribute to Newport Township FPD Firefighters Pension Fund

Taxpayers contributed 80.1 percent of the $95,814 the Newport Township FPD Firefighters Pension Fund brought in 2018, or $4.01 for every $1 from pension members, according to a Lake County Gazette analysis of the latest data reported to the Illinois Department of Insurance Pension Division.

In all, Wadsworth contributed $76,705 to the fund, which saw a $4,454 increase in revenue over 2017. Members contributed $19,109, or 19.9 percent, in 2018.
