Zion Fire Department responded to 426 calls in 2018 - 1.6 percent less than the previous year, according to data from the National Fire Incident Reporting System.

The calls in Zion included 105 fires - 61 structure fires, 14 vehicle fires and 30 other fires. The fire department also responded to two calls for ruptures, explosions or overheating.

In all, the department saw $557,550 in fire loss - or about $5,310 per fire.

The department also received 319 false calls, including four malicious calls and 315 other false calls.

Two fire service members were injured in fire-related incidents and three were injured in non fire-related incidents.

The Zion Fire Department had an annual budget of $683,324 in 2017.
