A reform-focused slate of candidates won Avon Township seats during the Lake County Consolidated general election.

Michelle Bauman and the rest of the Avon Focused slate are now the newly elected officials representing the Avon Township community.

“Thank you Avon Township community,” Bauman said in an April 7 Facebook post. “I am so grateful to everyone who came out and made their voices heard! I look forward to rolling up my sleeves and bringing about better local government as the next Supervisor for Avon Township."

Bauman defeated incumbent Township Supervisor Terry Wilked, who was seeking a second term.

Joining Bauman are assessor-elect Christ Ditton, clerk-elect Kristal Larson and trustees Michael Dobrow, Jeanne Kearby, Jeff Loffredo and Rudy Repa.

The Avon Focused slate campaigned about being committed to an honest government that would increase transparency and greater fiscal accountability and responsibility.

Former Republican House candidate Jim Walsh said: "Basically, they're running against Terry Wilkie, who has not been good for Avon Township," the Lake County Gazette previously reported. "He's done a lot of legally questionable things over the last two years."

Bauman is an incumbent Avon Township Trustee.

“Thank you to my friends, family, and supporters for volunteerism and encouragement,” Bauman said. “I am incredibly proud of my entire slate and look forward to working with them.”
